Meet Feminist Power Honoree Dr. Riane Eisler
The Feminist Press 2017 Feminist Power Awards will be held on October 16 in NYC. This annual tradition celebrates leaders whose work advance human rights, dignity, and empowerment. Among our honorees for 2017, we are celebrating author and Center for Partnership Studies President Dr. Riane Eisler.
Dr. Riane Eisler is a social scientist, attorney, and human rights activist. She is president of the Center for Partnership Studies and author of the international bestseller The Chalice and The Blade, which has been translated into 26 languages. In addition to founding the first center on women in law the US, Dr. Eisler also teaches in the human rights program at the University of Alabama and is editor in chief of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Partnership Studies at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Eisler has authored numerous award-winning books as well as hundreds of articles and book chapters. Eisler’s The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics was hailed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu as “a template for the better world we have been so urgently seeking.”
It takes a feminist like Dr. Eisler to make real and lasting change in this world. The Feminist Press is elated to award Riane Eisler a Feminist Power Award for her contributions to the women’s movement, brilliant writing, and commitment to human rights.
