Feminist Press welcomes new Chair and Vice President to Board of Directors

 

On December 5, Feminist Press Board of Director members Linda Villarosa and Barbara Rosen were selected as Chair and Vice President, respectively.

Linda Villarosa directs the undergraduate journalism program at the City College of New York where she teaches writing and media studies. She is also a contributing writer to the New York Times Magazine, where she covers health, social justice and LGBTQ issues. She is a former executive editor of Essence and former science editor for the Times. Villarosa is the author of several books including Passing for Black, which was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award in 2008.

Dr. Barbara Rosen, a licensed psychologist, received her BA at Mount Holyoke College and PsyD at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. She serves on the Board of Directors of Sage, lobbies with NOW and Planned Parenthood, and works in support of progressive democratic women’s candidates for national and state office.

Feminist Press Board of Directors President Helene Goldfarb, Treasurer Tricia Wentworth, and Secretary Lori Fox retain their positions. Many thanks to former Chair Rebecca Seawright and VP Joyce Whitby for their past years of service.
