Congratulations to FP author Cristina Rivera Garza, 2020 MacArthur Fellow!
Congratulations to 2020 MacArthur Fellow Cristina Rivera Garza!!! Rivera Garza's work explores culturally constructed notions of language, memory, and gender from a transnational perspective. "Writing is a critical practice. We write because we belong—to the territories we pass through, to our communities, to a range of languages," shares Rivera Garza in her statement to the MacArthur Foundation. Feminist Press is the proud publisher of two of her books, THE ILIAC CREST and GRIEVING (both translated by Sarah Booker). CRG is being recognized alongside 20 others, including Tressie McMillan Cottom, N. K. Jemisin, and Jacqueline Woodson.
