Jacqueline Bernard

Born in the French Alps and raised in the United States, Jacqueline Bernard (1921 - 1983) was a reporter, translator, advertising copywriter, activist, and author of Voices from the Southwest (1973), a collection of profiles of Native Americans and Spanish settlers. Her biography of Sojourner Truth, Journey to Freedom, was published initially in the late 1960s.
