Meet the New WSQ Editors

Dr. Inmaculada Lara-Bonilla is a professor of Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Hostos Community College, CUNY, where she also serves as Director of the Latin American Writers Institute (LAWI) and Chief Editor of its multilingual literary journal Hostos Review / Revista Hostosiana. Over three decades, she has built a transdisciplinary body of research spanning Latina/x/e and Latin American studies and women's, gender, and queer studies with a focus on literature and, more recently, philosophy. Her research, editorial leadership, and scholarly and community partnerships are grounded in intersectional, antiracist, and feminist decolonial frameworks and have received multiple awards and recognitions, including from CUNY, Syracuse University, and Harvard University, among others.

Dr. Christine Choi is an Assistant Professor of English at Hostos Community College, where she also serves as the Coordinator of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. A specialist in Victorian studies, her research explores noncanonical women novelists and sensation fiction, with a particular focus on feminist analyses of how gender and marriage are represented and contested in the Victorian novel. Her work has been published in Victorian Popular Fictions, Australasian Journal of Victorian Studies, and Victorian Studies. Dr. Choi is also an Assistant Editor for Undisciplining the Victorian Classroom, a digital humanities project that foregrounds inclusive and historically grounded teaching approaches to Victorian Studies.
